ESP8266 WiFi with Galileo gen 2

Hi,

My other thread on this topic is locked so opened up this new thread.

I successfully used HC05 with board but now I'm struggling with WiFi module.

Used this link but didn't get solution.

There AT command mode was used. But I'm trying to do this link Linux like HC05.

I have Debian GNU/Linux Galileo 3.8.7 as OS.

So I want to interface ESP8266 through serial port in Linux.

Please help.

Thanks for reaching out!Since you are using Debian, I would suggest you to go to the developer of this specific OS. I'm not sure exactly which Debian version you are using but if you are using Ubilinux you can contact Emutex in ( https://emutex.com/about-us/contact-us). You could also contact the creator of the guide found in the thread you posted above (https://communities.intel.com/message/388073# 388073 https://communities.intel.com/message/388073).If you would like to communicate through serial port i Linux, you have to first set up the serial port. In Yocto you can do it by following the steps found in https://communities.intel.com/thread/56827 https://communities.intel.com/thread/56827 but to do in order to learn how to do it on Debian, you'll have to contact the developer of this OS.I hope this helps.-Peter.

Hello Peter,

Using this link I used HC05 to communicate through serial port.

But I want to use ESP8266 for getting internet access to board or to get an IPv4 address. So that I can host Apache server in local network.

And I'm using Linux Galileo 3.8.7

And Debian version 7.11

I was able to use the ESP8266 via AT commands on the serial port. What is your idea for

I wonder what would be the relationship with Debian, because everything is made in Galileo-ESP8266... but maybe I'm missing somthing.

I apologise, I did not realize you are not using yocto in your Intel Galileo. I agree with Peter, you should ask the OS developers/maintainers.

Can you suggest me any forum or any place I could reach them.

Or any way to get Intel centrino wireless-n 135 in India.

Hi PranavP, I can help with Galileo using yocto and connected to an ESP8266 (which I can use via AT commands without problems).
