Hi,
Is there a document describing the Edison Arduino Layout in details, such as where and what are all the onboard LEDs ?
For instance, whenever I use I2C, an LED blinks on the arduino board. Are there similar LEDs for Serial and SPI for instance ?
Thanks!

Hi mcabral,
The documents on the Intel Edison can be found at /community/makers/edison/documentation https://communities.intel.com/community/makers/edison/documentation. I'd suggest you to take a look at the Edison Breakout Board Hardware Guide /docs/DOC-23252 https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-23252 and Edison Arduino Expansion Board Hardware Guide /docs/DOC-23161 https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-23161. Let me know if this is what you are looking for.

Thanks for the pointers but I have already searched through these documents and did not find any reference to the LED's on the arduino breakout board.
Maybe somebody else have other pointers or documents to reference to ?
Thanks again!

In that link is all of the documentation currently available for Edison. We are in the process of doing more documents that will be posted in that site.

Hi wjgeorge,
Yes, you are right I only answered the documentation question, I apologize for this. As far as I understand there are only two LEDs in the Breakout Board, one next to the reset button and another one next to the J19 row, this one indicates when the board is powered. Regarding the functionality of the other, one I'm not sure let me see what I can find on it.

I think there is a 3rd one next to the one that indicates power.
I believe it is related to I2C usage - but I would like confirmation on this.
I did fry my I2C somehow by using an external power supply and an LCD connected to the I2C - please see this post for details /message/257974# 257974 https://communities.intel.com/message/257974# 257974
After this event, this 3rd LED stopped working (I have a second Edison board where I see this LED working).
Thanks again,

Hi mcabral,
I've just checked and on the Breakout Board there are two LEDs. DS3 shows when the charger is charging the battery. DS1 shows when the processor is asserting reset.

The last answer to this thread refers to the Breakout Board, where as the initial question was about the Arduino Breakout Board.
For the Arduino Breakout Board there are three LEDs, DS1&3 are the same as on the other board, but DS2 is also available and user programmable on "DIG13_1P8"
This can also be found in the schematic here: http://download.intel.com/support/edison/sb/edison_arduino_hvm_8_26.pdf http://download.intel.com/support/edison/sb/edison_arduino_hvm_8_26.pdf
