I developed a prototype on one Edison and it is running fine. Now, my issue is that I want it to run on 50 Edisons. To achieve this I would like to create an image of the protoype I have so all I have to do is flash the others with that same image. Any ideas how this can be achieved?

Hi Sander,
That's a really nice project, I'll try to help with this.

Hope this information helps, let me know if you have any question.

Hey Yermi,
I was wondering if you could help me with a similar problem. I do not want to export and run the steps listed in the link provided on every Edison board. I have an automation script that works well (over the network) that'll bring each Edison to a known state. What I want to be able to do is have all Edisons connect to a known Wifi network at first boot.
I'm considering two options here:
- Baking a known network IN to the base image: Can you tell me which file I would want to modify while bit-baking the official repos?
- Modifying flashall.bat: provide the network to connect to right after the base image gets burned.
SanderB, I'll publish my findings and method once I manage to achieve this. I believe that this is much quicker than going in to each edison and doing manual labor.
Best...

Hi Taimoor,
I found this thread /thread/105716 https://communities.intel.com/thread/105716, there is mentioned a method to set up a connection to a specific network, additionally, if you want to set up this to be run every time on boot, there you can find another link with that information.
Hope this information helps, if you have more question, please let me know.

Hello Yermi,
Thanks for your reply. I already managed to do the steps you linked to. My question was in regards to generation of a custom image: i.e. the bitbaked image has the WiFi info. So when I boot the Edison up for the first time, it already can connect to the WiFi network. This will help me in operational stuff. I will try out the solution that Leonardo mentioned here this week:
Let me know if you have other suggestions.
Best,
Taimoor

Hi Taimoor,
Yes, please follow Leonardo's instructions, hope you can try that successfully, also, in this link (http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.7.2/mega-manual/mega-manual.html Yocto Project Development Manual) you can find helpful information to create a custom image.
