We are using an Intel Computestick to run photobooth software. Now there is this stick we have and when we plug it into a power source the LED starts to flicker instantly. I looked it up in the manual and there it says it would have to be that the stick is in "sleep mode". Just press boot once to start it. That is not the case I am afraid. When I stick it into a display it doesn't detect a input so the stick is not operating.
Please help. I'd rather not send the stick back because it takes a long time before I get it back.
Would prefer to fix this on my own with, ofcourse, your guys help
Looking forward to a reply.
Thank you for joining the Intel® Compute Stick Community. I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your Intel® Compute Stick.
Could you please let me know your Intel® Compute Stick model?
And I tried turning it off by holding the power button. About four seconds until the LED is off. But it doesnt automatically boot again. I have to unplug the power source, wait several seconds and then plug it in again to see the LED flicker again.
Thank you for that information.
Please try with a BIOS recovery method, here you can find the steps: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005902/mini-pcs/intel-compute-sticks.htm... https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005902/mini-pcs/intel-compute-sticks.htm... and the BIOS file here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27156/BIOS-Update-SCCHTAX5-86A-?product=91065 Download BIOS Update [SCCHTAX5.86A]
Something to try that might clear the issue: After plugging in the Compute Stick, hold in the power button until the power LED goes off completely (should take ~4 seconds). Release the power button and then press and release it again.
If the LED comes on and stays solid, whatever was wrong will have been cleared.
Hope this helps,
