Just wanted to point out that I've been able to program the SPI flash on a Galileo2 board using the SPI-Hook Flash Programmer from Tin Can Tools. This awesome little board is only $29 and is very useful for rescuing bricked boards, upgrading firmware, etc. etc. It's a nice alternative to the more expensive Dediprog.
I wrote up my experience here: http://www.tincantools.com/wiki/Intel_Galileo2_SPI-Hook Intel Galileo2 SPI-Hook - TinCanTools
The board is for sale here: http://www.tincantools.com/SPI_Hook.html SPI Hook: tool to program SPI Flash
We are really glad to know that you were able to recover your bricked boards at an affordable price. Thank you very much for sharing this with the Community, I'm sure many other users will find it quite helpful.
