How to Access DigitalOcean Droplet files from Edison?

Hello,

So I have four sensors: Moisture, Humidity, Temperature and Light connected to a Intel Edison. I have been taking the sensor values and storing them in AWS DynamoDB. Then I deployed a website on DigitalOcean Droplet. In the website the user gives some threshold values and based on those values the actuators: servo and relay needs to be activated.

How should I read the values given in the website from Edison?

Thanks

Hello Pavan_Kumar_Konda,

Thanks for reaching out!

There are a few ways in which you can retrieve data from a website in order to use it on your code. Since you didn't specify I'll assume you are using C for my suggestions, but if you are interested in suggestions for a different language, just let me know and I'll try to help you.

You mentioned that you have a website on your DigitalOcean Droplet, do you have a RSS feed on this website? Or, in case you don't, are you able to implement one? In case you don't know what a RSS feed is, I'd suggest you to check this document: http://www.whatisrss.com/. If you do have a RSS feed on your website, you can use a library such as the listed below to fetch data from the feed (assuming that you share the sensors' data on the feed) and use it to make the Edison work respectively:

http://www.xmlsoft.org/

https://github.com/mwaterfall/MWFeedParser

Another way in which you can retrieve the data from your website is by downloading the HTML and looking for the data that is of your interest in order to work with it. For this, you can use a library such as libcurl ( https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/example.html) for this purpose.

I hope this information helps you,
