Now that I've made the mistake of installing the November 2015 Windows 10 update my Compute Stick is non-functional. After actually getting the update to install, it now freezes after 10-20 seconds of operation.
I tried F8 to recover, but it seems it recovers to the current non-working version of Windows 10. Then I tried to download and install the base Windows 10 that is available when upgraded from 8.1 - 10, but cannot install while in safe mode and can't have the system stable enough to begin that install, if it will work at all.
It's been days, and this appears to be a very common issue.
What is the solution INTEL?
my desktop succeed with this update. then i created the usb recovery drive. now is try to back the previous build of ICS. hope it can reset it back. and wait the intel official.
I spoke with Intel and they advised that they can warranty swap the stick but there is no way at this time to fix the issue. So they are only offering the swap which rolls back to windows 8.1. Horrible solution!
Yeah I currently have a support ticket open, they've told to update the BIOS and linked to Windows recovery ... seriously?! So replied with link to this section and other thread on BIOS update making it worse. They did ask for shipping address. I might see if can return to my local supplier, if swap is only solution.
Amazon is taking back mine without any argument and refunding. I ordered the newer version with 10 installed and will stop pushed updates until I hear there is a patch out there that fixes the Autumn update issue.
in their help section for the ICS http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/category/bandk/stck1a32wfc/instl_confg http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/category/bandk/stck1a32wfc/instl_confg within section http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/stck1a32wfc/sb/CS-035618.htm Intel® Compute Stick STCK1A32WFC — Error: There Was a Problem Refreshing or Resetting Your PC in this they say about not being able to reset the stick...
If this problem occurs even when there is no SD card inserted, replace the Intel Compute Stick, either:

So called Amazon as purchased this on 29th Oct, and they are giving me a full refund.

I spoke to support yesterday. They advised that nothing could be done to fix the stick I had two options, they would warranty replace the stick or I could return it to the vendor that I purchased it from. I have chosen to return the device and will purchase the new version that is suppose to launch this month with 4gb ram and the faster new intel processor.
I tried calling phone support yesterday and they hung up on me. I wasn't rude or demanding, only starting to convey my upgrade issue...the moment I mentioned "Compute Stick" they hung up. Then, I tried to call back, they hung up on me again...three times. I gave up this route and came to the chat communities. Not really happy about this kind of support. Live chat would have been preferable, but seems to be down 24/7. I am surprised by this poor response by Intel. I hope they have a chance to redeem themselves before too long. Always been a huge fan up till now...
I'm trying this option, as last try. Installed latest BIOS and performing a fresh install. See how I go.
I've spoken to my vendor and will be returning it on Saturday, an hour drive, but they've indicated will do a direct swap. So happy with that, as first they wanted to do all tests and such. I was like it's a known issue, Intel .. blah blah.
