I was using poky/yocto and Intel meta images.
Please provide the details.How to support apt-get install package on Edison(Linux)

Hi Srinivas,
It should be possible to install apt-get, but as stated on this thread /thread/80555 https://communities.intel.com/thread/80555 "the problem with apt-get is that it requires pre-compiled packages for the board in a hosted repository, which is the same behavior with opkg". So instead of using apt-get I would suggest to continue using opkg, unless you have already created your own apt-get repository.
I haven't install apt-get on my Edison board, but If you do want to try it on your system I would suggest you to check these instructions http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/install-apt-get-646660/ http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/install-apt-get-646660/, you might encounter some issues with RPM so take that into account.
