Hi neuber,
Thank you for contacting us. Let us try to help you with your issue.
I'm wondering what method are you following to try to change the $PATH line. Could you please explain us with some more detail?
Did you make sure that this new path, /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig or the one you're using, exists?
Regards,
-Pablo

Hi Neuber,
Thank you for your explanation.
I just tried to run the "Using an LCF on the Edison" tutorial myself, and was able to change the path successfully, without having to use the .profile approach that you're using right now.
I used a fresh install of the latest image. I would suggest you to do the same: Flash your board using the Flashall script, connect to a WiFi network and then follow the steps from the guide. You might get better results this time.
Below you can see a picture of what I'm getting when running echo $PKG_CONFIG_PATH.
Regards,
-Pablo

Hi Neuber,
We haven't heard from you lately, and we would like to know if you had time to test our suggestions. I was able to change the path without issues so you might give that a try.
Regards,
-Pablo
