Install IoTDevKit image in VirtualBox?

Jump to solution

Hey All - Just curious if anyone has installed the EGLIBC Image - http://downloadmirror.intel.com/25384/eng/iot-devkit-201510010757-mmcblkp0-galileo.direct.xz http://downloadmirror.intel.com/25384/eng/iot-devkit-201510010757-mmcblkp0-galileo.direct.xz in VirtualBox? I wanted to compile some packages and memory issues are getting me with gcc.

Thanks,

-Joe

Hi Joe,

I suggest you to build the Cross Compile Toolchain by following the steps from Section 7: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/23197/eng/Quark_BSP_BuildGuide_329687_009.pdf Quark BSP User Guide

If you want to install the image in VirtualBox, take a look at this link: it is for Edison but the idea is similar, you will need to create a qemu target in order to emulate the board.

If you just want to compile code with the same resources the images has, I suggest you to use the Cross Compile Toolchain.

Regards,

Charlie
