Hi Sarnava,
What kind of issue are you getting exactly? If you go to the Boards Manager as ghanashyamprabhu showed in the screenshot above, you will see the Intel i686 Boards option which corresponds to the Edison module. Just click on the Install button.
Another option that you could try is using the Arduino IDE 1.6.0. It's not the latest version but it already includes the Edison and Galileo boards without installing any additional packages. The 1.6.0 version can be downloaded from the following site: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24783/eng/IntelArduino-1.6.0-Windows.7z http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24783/eng/IntelArduino-1.6.0-Windows.7z

Thank you. I had installed Arduino 1.6.6 and that was the cause of the problem. Now that I am using a earlier version of the software the library is working fine.
But in my Device manager I can only see the USB Serial Port but not the Intel Edison Virtual Com Port. How do i solve this problem now ?

Hi Sarnava,
Make sure you have both USB ports connected to your PC, and the little switch is towards the micro USB port, otherwise it won't be recognized. Also make sure you have installed the Edison's drivers: https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/edison/downloads IoT - Intel® Edison Board Download | Intel® Developer Zone
I noticed that you opened a new thread for this question: , so continue in the other thread. You will receive help there soon.

Diego
