I enabled PWM channel 3 of Intel Edison for a frequency of 10Khz and duty cycle of 50%. The Edison was powered from a DC source of 3.7V.
After enabling the PWM current consumption went to 300mA from 60mA. Why the PWM module is taking too much current ? is this expected behavior ?

I'd say that it's normal to have that increase in the current consumption, however let me investigate more about it to confirm whether it's normal or not.

I had a schottkey diode placed turned around which was taking this much current, deploying it properly solved the issue.
