Intel Edison Libraries

Jump to solution

Hello,

I am fairly new with the Intel Edison, i have gone though the setup and have successfully uploaded the blink command example to the Edison ( with a breakout board). But when i try to print anything to the serial monitor, nothing appears and i receive the following messages when ever i use any code. Please provide assistance and be detailed. Again, im fairly new to the Intel Edison.

Warning: platform.txt from core 'Arduino i686 Boards' contains deprecated recipe.ar.pattern="{compiler.path}{compiler.ar.cmd}" {compiler.ar.flags} "{build.path}/{archive_file}" "{object_file}", automatically converted to recipe.ar.pattern="{compiler.path}{compiler.ar.cmd}" {compiler.ar.flags} "{archive_file_path}" "{object_file}". Consider upgrading this core.

ZohaibArshad, it should work fine in 1.6.6. Came across that same error today, what you need to do is rename the file /.arduino15/packages/Intel/hardware/i686/1.6.2+1.0/libraries/Wire/libraries.properties to library.properties

Here is the original thread that led me to that https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=362521.0 https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=362521.0

Hope this helps!

Hello ZohaibArshad,

I've seen those messages in the Arduino IDE 1.6.6. I'm not sure if your are using that version, but I would recommend to use the Arduino IDE 1.6.0. This is the most stable version to work with Edison and Galileo boards. You can download it from the following site: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24783/eng/IntelArduino-1.6.0-Windows.7z http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24783/eng/IntelArduino-1.6.0-Windows.7z

Regards,

Diego.
