Intel Edison Not Flashing Correctly

Jump to solution

I have been trying to flash my Intel Edison with both flashall.sh and flash tool lite. It does not mount on any computer and I cannot connect via serial with putty. When I try to flash it, I either get:

Device has DFU interface but no DFU functional descriptor  Cannot open DFU device 8087:0a99

or:

I have it connected with cables that have worked in the past with the board, and it is connected to an external supply.

Do you mean you are running flashall.sh from linux and Flash Tool Lite from Windows? I don't know with windows, but AFAIK you need to install the drivers (as is normal on windows).

On linux I found I need to use `sudo flashall`, otherwise I get exactly your 1st error message.
