Intel Edison Not Recognized by Computer --Debian Ubilinux

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

I am using an Intel Edison with debian Ubilinux. The Edison was recognized by my computer when flashed with the Yocto linux Image but when I flashed the the debian Ubilinux image my computer now recognizes it as "Multifunction Composite Device". When I go into "troubleshoot this device" it says the CDC and RNDIS drivers are not installed even though they are. I am running this on Windows 8 64bit. I tried to reflash the Edison but since it's not recognized by my computer the flashall.bat command gets stuck at "Please plug and reboot the board" and "DFU Device not found Timeout".

Any and all help would be appreciated since this is one of the main components for my senior design project.

Thanks!

Hi,

I would like to know if you were following the instructions in: http://www.emutexlabs.com/ubilinux/29-ubilinux/218-ubilinux-installation-instructions-for-intel-edis... http://www.emutexlabs.com/ubilinux/29-ubilinux/218-ubilinux-installation-instructions-for-intel-edis.... If you want to continue using Ubilinux or recover it for using this image, I suggest you to contact http://www.emutexlabs.com/forum/index http://www.emutexlabs.com/forum/index for more instructions because they are the owners of this image.

In order to recover the functionality of the board with Yocto, you can run the flashall script (not working for you) or the Phone Flash Tool Lite:

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/flash-tool-lite-user-manual https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/flash-tool-lite-user-manual

https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-25154 https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-25154

Are you using the breakout board or the Arduino expansion board? It could be also a problem in the power provided from the USB port of the PC.

Could you try to run these methods in another computer?

Regards,

Charlie
