Hello everyone, I'm start working in a project to measure Temp and HR by using the am2315.
I'm using DFRobot expansion board and the bus i2c 6, after running i2cdetect -r -y 6 the sensor is not there.
I've read that there ws some issues with this sensor and intel edison, does anyone know if this two can work together?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your interest in the Intel Edison Platform.
Looking at this thread it seems like a customer got the sensor working with the https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_AM2315 GitHub - adafruit/Adafruit_AM2315: Library code for AM2315 sensors , still I would encourage you to try the upm library for this sensor https://iotdk.intel.com/docs/master/upm/classupm_1_1_a_m2315.html# details upm: AM2315 Class Reference . Please let me know your results.
I will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day!
Thanks Jose for your answer, following the thread that you mentioned, I don't see that the user was ok with the sensor.
Beside the library to use, I think the sensor should appear on i2cdetect command, I'm correct?
I apologize, checking the thread the user said that it worked with Arduino Uno, not the Edison. Analyzing other threads I see that you are right! No user has confirmed that the AM2315 works with the Intel Edison. I will communicate to the correct Department that this library is not working.
In the meantime, you can check this page https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/sensors?field_component_type_tid=80540&field_component... Sensors | IoT | Intel® Software , in order to find another humidity sensor compatible with the Edison.
Hope you find this information useful, have a nice day!
Jose, It would be great for the community if you guys at Intel can run some tests with the am2315 or also to talk with the vendor to see what is happening.
We were doing some tests with the BME280 and is working perfect, but our main idea is to use the am2315.
By the way, the am2315 appears on https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/sensors%3Ffield_component_type_tid%3D80540%26field_com... Sensors | IoT | Intel® Software
We appreciate all your feedback, as I stated in my previous reply, I will make sure to communicate all your concerns regarding the AM2315 to the correct Department.
Have a nice day!
