Intel Edison board mount only as USB mass storage instead of USB composite device

Hello Team,

I have mini Intel Edison break out board. When I connect the board to the windows machine using OTG port, it will mount as USB composite device and it enables (1) CDC,(2)RNDIS and (3) USB mass storage functions.

Can I configure board such that when I mount to the windows machine it will only mount as USB mass storage device.

Thanks.

Hi KHTS,

Thank you for contacting us. May I ask why do you want to have this configuration? These drivers enable important features, such as programming the board via the Arduino IDE and Ethernet over USB. If you don't want to have CDC and RNDIS enabled then you'd have to skip the step where you install that package. If the drivers are not installed, CDC and RNDIS won't be enabled.

If you look at https://software.intel.com/en-us/installing-drivers-for-intel-edison-board-with-windows https://software.intel.com/en-us/installing-drivers-for-intel-edison-board-with-windows , you'd notice that having the Edison recognized as a drive is listed as a requirement before installing the drivers.

Let us know if you find this useful.
