Intel Power Gadget

Jump to solution

https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-power-gadget-20 Intel® Power Gadget | Intel® Software When I try to use the intel power gadget on the edison, I encounter the error:

# ./power_gadget -e 1000 -d 10

RAPL not supported, or machine model 406a8 not recognized.

Init failed!

Is there a way to get updated cpu specs into the linux version of the power gadget?

Hello CRAllen,

As you might know the Edison is based on a Atom CPU, you can verify this in section 3.1 of Edison's Hardware Guide ( http://www.intel.com/support/edison/sb/CS-035274.htm). And according to the instructions section of Intel® Power Gadget ( https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-power-gadget-20), Intel® Atom™ processors are not supported.

Therefore, I'm afraid this software tool is not compatible with Edison.
