Intel compute stick does not work

Good Morning,

I have a Intel Compute Stick STCK1A32WFCR model, bought about 6 months ago to penalties.

I upgraded to Windows 10 without any problems, although the process was slow.

However, recently when he arrived at the login screen, the Intel Compute Stick was frozen. As much, on occasion, came to enter the password / pin, but when I go again froze.

I tried system restore, it could not be.

I tried to restore the pc (factory) but the process always remained at 49%, with no progress for many hours to leave him on.

Now I find that the option to recover Windows 8.1 fails. If I try to access the "normal" way the system the screen goes black, no progress or change.

So just be somehow install the OS from scratch, I do not know if using a pc?

What solutions there is to it?

Hi LRonda,

I suggest you to do a BIOS recovery and you can follow the steps at the following link:

After that is done reset the system to factory defaults:

  1. Remove any SD card, if installed.
  2. Press F8 when you see this prompt during boot: F8 to Activate Windows® 8.1 Recovery Mode.
  3. Select Troubleshoot.
  4. Select Reset your PC, then select Next.
  5. Select just remove my files.

Hi Hellen,

Even I am facing similar issue with STK2M3W64CC., initially it used freeze suddenly and even not updating with new windows 10 updates but when I tried resetting computer, it ended up saying with some reasons it couldn't reset. Now computer is not loading Windows. Again I troubleshooted with Repair option under Troubleshoot(F8). Now computer stuck with Loading Windows and after sometime it ends-up with black screen but Alt+Ctrl+Del works but not loading any icons on screen its completely black.

Please help me to resolve this.,

Mamata, your Intel® Compute Stick model is different to LRonda's try doing a BIOS update in the following link you will find the latest version.

Hello,

First of all excuse the delay in responding, and excuse my English again.

Until now he had been unable to review your answers, and therefore perform the steps discussed.

I have tried to make the Bios Recovery, but as I have no multiport USB hub, I have tried to do step using a Micro SD, although it seems not serve ...

Reached the screen to choose the option Bios Recovery and pressing F4 with a mixed device (keyboard-mouse) connected via USB, the screen is no signal.

I also waited more than 20 minutes, but it seems that if not via USB, it is not possible Bios Recovery.

I'll try to get a multiport USB hub, and repeat step.

PS: The latest version of the BIOS is the 0031, dated November 27, 2015?
