Hi aeiou1177,
I've tried to play a 4K movie via VLC on my core M5 ComputeStick (Same Intel® HD Graphics 515 model).
I was only able to play one @ 3840x2160 but not @ 4096x2160, but that can be because of my monitor (@ 4096x2160 my screen stayed black).
Note: Test was done on FreeBSD 11.2 / KDE Plasma 5 Desktop / VLC

Hi aeiou1177,
The core is different between our models but the video chip is not (except for 50 MHz).
See: https://ark.intel.com/compare/88198,88197 Intel® Product Specification Comparison
Your model should be able to run 4K video just as good as mine does.
Did you try 4K Movie file in a 3840 x x 2160 resolution (60 Hz max.)?
The 4096 x 2304 resolution is only possible in 24 Hz and (somebody correct me if I am wrong) not every display / TV supports that.

set up 3840x2160 but this product all you to set 23-30 Hz only.
if i play 4k movie let say high bitrate file size around 50GB, by program movies&tv app (came with win10), a lot of buffering..play..hang...play.
with the same movie open in vlc, has only sound no picture.
but when you reduce bitrate, or delete some option that unnecessary in the movie file, this movie size 10GB, yes i can see smoothly.
Remember now 4k movie have only very high bitrate some movie has full bitrate more than 100GB per movie.
That why i can say i cannot see 4k movie
