Is there a command for factory reset?

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

May i know if there is a command to reset everything to its original files when i first bought my edison?

I've tried reboot ota and my files are still there when i do a ls check.

Is there any specific command? Or do i have to reflash my edison?

Hi mr_crocodile556,

Flashing the Edison module is the closest thing to a factory reset function. You'll get a new image with the default packages and the packages that you might have installed would be erased. If you're not sure about how to flash the Edison module you could check this guide /docs/DOC-98643 https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-98643, it has everything you need to flash your module.

Pablo
