I have installed latest Intel System studio in order to continue my work with intel edison and java.
However I have noticed that Eclipse does not offer the possibility anymore to create a IoT Java Project. Only c and C++.
I have found IOTDEVKIT_DISABLE_JAVA_SUPPORT= true in the eclipse config file. Why is it set to disable java support???
After changing former option, eclipse let you select Java IoT project but at the final step there is no example template and does not let you finish the project creation. SO NO JAVA.
I have tried in two different WINDOWS machines with Windows 10 and x64. Latest SDK installed etc.
On top of that, there is no mraa.jar in the folders.
What is it happening?
Thank you for your interest in our products.
Regarding the issue, I would like to replicate it myself so I´m now installing the latest version of Intel System Studio on my machine. I will contact you back once I have some updates on the issue.
Did you get to check the config file of the previous ISS installation?
We are still investigating this. We appreciate your patience in the meantime. You can also try with this approach https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/596288 https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/596288, "Running Java IoT Applications outside of the Intel System Studio IoT Edition".
Wjax, did you check my question las time? I'm wondering if you got to check the config file of the previous ISS installation.
I really think that intel has dropped java support in this new version on purpose. There is no trace of java in the new system studio, no jars, no .so
I guess they will add it afterwards and that they may only had time to give c++ support in this new version.
Config files are different, but the important thing is that java is missing even after enabling the "hidden" option.
I cant get it to work either, very frustrating, where is the JAVA samples and no option to create a new project using java. re downloaded and reinstalled multiple times still not working......
We have tested the latest version of the ISS available for download and it has Java support. We created a Java sample program and seems to be working as expected. I would suggest you to download and reinstall the ISS version found here https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/tools-ide/ide/iss-iot-edition https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/tools-ide/ide/iss-iot-edition. It might be necessary to uninstall the current version found on your system and then reinstall.
