Kernel compilation failed for Intel(R) REF-OS-IOT

Hi,

I followed steps mentioned @ https://github.com/01org/ref-os-iot GitHub - 01org/ref-os-iot: This is the official distribution of the Intel(R) Reference Operating System for the Internet…

$ mkdir -p $HOME/work

$ cd $HOME/work

$ git clone https://github.com/01org/ref-os-iot https://github.com/01org/ref-os-iot

$ cd ref-os-iot

$ git submodule update --recursive --init

$ source 5xx-init-build-env

$ bitbake full-image

I'm getting following kernel compilation error,

ERROR: linux-yocto-4.4.41+gitAUTOINC+78a26182e2_a249f6388a-r0 do_compile: oe_runmake failed

ERROR: linux-yocto-4.4.41+gitAUTOINC+78a26182e2_a249f6388a-r0 do_compile: Function failed: do_compile (log file is located at /home/vishnu/project/joule/ref-os-iot/build/tmp-glibc/work/corei7-64-intel-common-refos-linux/linux-yocto/4.4.41+gitAUTOINC+78a26182e2_a249f6388a-r0/temp/log.do_compile.15325)

I've attached complete error log file in attachment.

Please help me to solve this error.

Hello vishnumotghare,

Thank you for your interest in Intel® Joule™ Products.

I'm sorry to hear that you are getting various errors while trying to build the Ref-OS-IoT image.

Could you please tell me if there is a particular reason why you want to build the image? My question is related to the fact that you can download the latest image here: https://download.01.org/ref-os-iot/releases/1703/5xx/.

I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Hello Andres,

It's project requirement where need to replace the existing Ref-OS-IoT kernel with custom kernel, before doing that I just wanted to build Ref-OS-IoT so came across kernel compilation error.

However am able to fix kernel compilation error by changing LINUX_VERSION = 4.4.41 with LINUX_VERSION = 4.4.60 and SRCREV_meta with respective commit id in file linux-yocto_4.4.bb

FILE PATH:

/ref-os-iot/intel-iot-refkit/openembedded-core/meta/recipes-kernel/linux/linux-yocto_4.4.bb

Regards,

Vishnu
