I built my first proof of concept using arduino and a LoRa transreceiver and a LoRa beacon. It worked fine. Unfortunately, on my way to a pitch competition and demo, myself and a few other passengers riding Bart were robbed here in the bay area of California and they took it.
I'm now rebuilding everything and am using an Edison and was wondering if there were any compatable LoRa transreceivers, I'll even take the LoRawan instead of the beacon. any help would be greatly appreciated .
Thank you for contacting us.
We're sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. We investigated about LoRa and if there is any information about it on the Edison. First, we looked at the Shield Testing Report and at the UPM library for any LoRa related information. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any information about this technology, which means that there aren't any LoRa sensors that have been tested with the Edison, so it's no guarantee they'll work.
We did find, however, a couple of links in the community where other users asked about LoRa. You can see them here:

In the first thread, we discuss about the compatibility between LoRa and the Edison. Another user posted a suggestion to the thread, which suggests he could've found a way to use LoRa successfully.
The second thread discusses trying to use the SX1276. Hopefully you can find useful information here.
Keep us updated on your progress.
Thank you for responding, we've hacked a workaround together and think we have something going . Worked well enough we have just landed our first two contracts for our pilot programs, thank you for your suggestions .
