My Intel Compute Stick doesn't like the updates of Windows 10

Hello,

Excuse me please for my poor english. I'm french and old, and it's difficult to write a correct syntax.

Three weeks ago, I bought a Compute Stick STCK1A32WFC with Windows 10. Last night the OS update. This morning the Stick was out. Black screen.

I try to repair with the tools in Windows 10. Nothing.

I try to recover, the system tell me that there is a bug and the can't reset.

I read and follow the rules on this page :

My bios is the good one.

I put Windows 10 on a USB stick (W10 32bits) and I try to boot on the USB.

The process begin and stop at 8%

What can I do ???????????????

Thank you for looking at my trouble.

I try all the possibilities Windows 10 offer to me.

The Safe Mode doesn't work (an error is occured)

I try to boot on an USB flash drive with Windows 10 32B download with the Media Creation Tool of Microsoft.

The begin and stop at 8 or 10 % (after 1hour I turn out the ICS)

Can I try the same with a MicroSD card in the slot ???

Hi Macheprot,

 

 

Answering your question; no, it is not a way to install an operating system through the MicroSD slot.

 

Let's try to reset the system to factory defaults first, also to do an OS installation it is important to remove the SD card always.

 

  • Remove any SD card, if installed.
  • Press F8 when you see this prompt during boot: F8 to Activate Windows 8.1* Recovery Mode.
  • Select Troubleshoot.
  • Select Reset your PC, then select next.
  • Select just remove my files.
  • Select Reset to start the restore process.
Then try with this Windows® 10 Update.

I follow the process you give to me.

The reset begin well 1, 2, 3%, and suddenly on the screen I can read : " A problem occurred during the reset of your PC"

Hi Hellen,

Yesterday I receive a mail from Intel Europe or France (I live in France)

asking me for my phone number and the date of purchase.

I think (and I hope) that the process of replacement is running...

I do not know how takes place the replacement.

The old PC with a Pentium4, who took over from the ICS, is running well. I

can wait.

My ICS was picked up by DHL last tuesday.

The European Intel support informed me of the arrival of the ICS this morning on its platform.
