Hi everyone,
I need help. Today I bought a Intel Edison Mini Breakout Board Kit:
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00PTVSVI8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Intel Edison Breakout Board Kit - placas de desarrollo (Intel® AtomTM, 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11b, 802.11n, LPDDR3, 70-pi…
And I was been following this get-started guide:
https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/628223 IoT - Assemble Mini Breakout Board | Intel® Software
But I cant finish this guide. I cant see the "Edison" drive unit in "Computer". The 2 usb ports of board are conected to my PC (I have tried to use 3.0 and 2.0 usb ports and diferents PCs). The 2 leds are turned on but I can see the Edison drive.
I have tried to install this drivers too:
https://software.intel.com/iot/hardware/edison/downloads Downloads for Intel® Edison Module | IoT | Intel® Software
Im worried that my IE unit are damaged because the first time, I COULD see Edison drive in Computer but for some reason, when i was updating IE firmware (using Intel Edison Setup) the process failed, and then, Im in this situation.
Should I return my IE to amazon? Or do I'm making some mistake?
My PC have:
Windows 10 64-bits
i7-4790
16GB RAM DDR3
It Isnt a laptop
Thank you
PD: Sorry for my English, Im not good at this

Hello AdrianMadu,
Thanks for reaching out!
There might have been an issue when you were flashing the image into your board. In order to recover it you might want to try the following method:
https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-25154 https://communities.intel.com/docs/DOC-25154
If this method fails then there is another option, it is called Flashall.sh and pre-built xFSTK but it can only run on a Linux PC. If you have access to one you can find how to do it in:
https://communities.intel.com/thread/56133 https://communities.intel.com/thread/56133
If this also fails, then I would suggest you to indeed contact the place of purchase to get a warranty replacment. However, if they are not able to help you, please submit an email to the form found in https://customercare.intel.com/?lang=en-US.
I hope this helps.
-Peter.

Thank you!!
The first solution works for me.
Now I can see the Edison drive unit but windows ask for format it. Must I format it??
Hi AdrianMadu,
I'm glad to hear that you were able to recover your board using the method I suggested.
Regarding the message you are receiving, if you are having issues with Edison's drive you can go ahead and format it, if otherwise, then, there is no need to do so.
Let me know how you proceed.
-Peter.
Ok Peter,
Thank you again,
I have formated the partition as FAT32 because I coudnt enter in the drive.
Now works fine.
best regards
That is great to hear!
