New Edison board keeps "losing" Arduino sketches after reboot/reconnect

Jump to solution

Hello everyone,

I got my new Edison board yesterday and finished setting it up. I updated Linux, installed all the drivers and software, created a password and connected to WiFi from both serial and Arduino sketch.

I even got around to testing some shields on it and it worked perfectly.

I have this one annoying problem though, my Edison keeps forgetting the Arduino code uploaded to it no matter what. I tired shutting it down via serial, disconnecting the cables and even the power button and nothing seems to make my Arduino sketch stick.

Do i really need to re-upload them every time i boot the Edison?

Hi menkesi,

That's a known issue with the latest image version. I recommend you to re-flash the Edison with the following image version since this issue doesn't happen on it: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24910/Intel-Edison-Software-Release-2-1?httpDown=htt... Intel Edison Software Release 2.1

Thanks for the help, after trying to flash it with Phone Flash Tool Lite i only get errors.

How would you recommend to flash the Edison?

Hi menkesi,

I recommend you to use an alternative method that uses a script called flashall. This method is described in the following document:
