Hi,
I have made some changes to the original Ubuntu installation and would like to know if it is possible to replace the recovery partition with a new image (based on my customization)?
Basically, I wanted to ensure that if the user does a recovery, I would like to keep the customizations. Is there a tool out there to create a recovery partition?

In this case you can try but we cannot guarantee that it will work, at this point I would recommend to wait for some else to post here that have maybe try your configuration.
Also, if any changes are made on the recovery partition different than the one showing http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-035602.htm here the warranty will be void.
Regards!

Noted on the warranty will be void. If I am willing to void the warranty, do you have any instructions on how to generate and load the recovery image to the ICS?

It should be the same process as any Windows machine:

You will be able to follow the instructions here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive
Or you can use the one VyReN posted.
