We're working with Edison Kit for Arduino. We need to pull various data from board, like sensors values, save it to .log file and send over Ethernet or Wi-Fi to IoT Cloud. Also, we want to read that data from second Arduino but using Wi-Fi (with it's own network or preferably using existing wireless network).
So, basically we need to know how to read and store data in files (then saving on micro sd card) and variables via Serial connection and over Wi-Fi network.
In addition, we'd want to sort that data somehow, maybe with special characters?
Thanks in advance for your support!
Thanks for reaching out.
It sounds like an interesting project, and we would gladly help you with it.
If you need read data from different sensors, well it depends of the communication protocol that you are using, but I recommend you to use the MRAA library, in this repository you can find all the information available about it, and you can also find examples there: https://github.com/intel-iot-devkit/mraa.
If you need to create a file with the data, I suggest you to check how to create and read files in any tutorial about the programming language that you pretend to use. Once you have created the file, it will be stored in the Edison's memory and you can copy the file using the command cp /media/sdcard.
Now, if you need to connect your Edison to a cloud service, please take a look at this link https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/edison# cloud, there are options available that are:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure IoT Hub IBM Bluemix Internet of Things
I hope you find all the information very useful.
Have a nice day.
Thank you for support.
I just got information that we'll be working with Intel IoT Analytics. Is it possible to create simple database with update function? We need to show if specified RFID card was scanned or not. We aim to make it in simple list, like this:
Card # | Scanned?
Card 1 | Yes
Card 2 | No
Unfortunately, Intel® Cloud Analytics have been discontinued (Check this thread: https://communities.intel.com/thread/107871 https://communities.intel.com/thread/107871).
That's why I recommended you the following alternative solutions( https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/edison# cloud):
