Reading GPS over Serial1

I have an Adafruit GPS Breakout (https://www.adafruit.com/products/746 https://www.adafruit.com/products/746) and I'm trying to read the output over Serial1. I've tried getting output via terminal, Node, and Arduino Sketch with no luck. If I plug it into a normal Arduino UNO it works flawlessly.

I've found various tutorials and threads and learned a few things but still not able to read anything via serial.

  • GPS VIN > 5v
  • GPS GND > GND
  • GPS RX > RX
  • GPS TX > TX (Also tried TX to RX and RX to TX based on a thread, no difference).

I've tried two different Edison boards with same result. So is there something I need to do to be able to start reading the GPS data?

Thanks!

I discovered a Galileo thread that combined the reversed pins with some commands that seem to work in Arduino and Node now.
