I've lately trying to figure out how to record from my USB sound card using Intel Edison. I'm able to play a file using ALSA but I'm not able to record. On executing
arecord ~/test.wav
the file is created as well as the duration is also correct but not able to hear anything during playback. I've checked the volume using alsamixer and its fine. Any kind of help will be appreciated.

Hi,
There's a thread that discusses how to record and play audio using ALSA and the commands to do so. Check /message/388790# 388790 https://communities.intel.com/message/388790# 388790 .
