SPI Chipselect pin direct use or not

Hello every one;

quark_x1000 have two spi SPI0 and SPI1.

SPI0 use for ADC and SPI1 is use for external use in galileo 2 board.

GPIO0 is use ADC chip select pin.

GPI010 is use External SPI chip select Pin.

why the galileo 2 board have not use the direct quark SPIO_SS_B and SPIO1_SS_B pins for chip select as shown above schematic image?

we can use direct these pins or not?

Please Help me to solve out my query.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You can't access pins SPIO_SS_B and SPI1_SS_B directly. As you stated, the chip select for SPI0 and SPI1 is GPIO0 and GPIO10. I'll do some research to see if I can find more information about this.

Hi Nukunj,

Thank you for your patience. The Galileo board can only be used as SPI master. Those pins are not exposed in the board, but essentially these slave select pins found on the quark are being used: SPI0_SS_B (SPI0) is reserved for the on-board ADC and only SPI1_SS_B (SPI1) can be used externally after muxing in GPIO10.
