SPP client in Intel Edison

Hi everyone,

I am trying to connect my intel edison to another device by SPP, I was trying with with this article but SPP-loopback.py is a server I need a client because I cannot configure the bluetooth in the other device.

Does anyone know how to connect from edison to another device instead of another device to edison?????

I read the Bluetooth Guide but there are not examples there to use my edison as client instead server.

Thank you everyone

Thanks Octavian,

I have alredy seen those threads, but they are about how to connect my android to the Edison, but what I am trying to do is connect my Edison to another device with SPP, I don't want my edison waiting for a connection, I want that my edison starts the connection to another device.

Hello Baltazar,

Thank you for your patience.

I'd suggest to take a look at this example below and do the necessary changes to get it working on Edison https://github.com/tonyespy/bluez5-spp-example https://github.com/tonyespy/bluez5-spp-example.

We cannot guarantee that it will work, but it should help you go in the right direction.
