STK1AW32SC - No audio drivers for 64-bit Windows 10

Jump to solution

So I've installed Windows 10 64-bit and there seems to be no 64-bit audio drivers.

Everything else works perfect and all other hardware has successfully installed drivers thru the windows installation but there is no audio drivers, I've searched the internet and have found nothing.

The SoC Drivers will not install as it's only made for 32-bit windows, so I tried installing the audio drivers manually in the device manager but it fails half-way thru saying the drivers are not for this Platform

Has anyone had any success in getting audio drivers in windows 10 64-bit

I really don't want to have to go back to 32-bit windows as I have 64-bit applications I wish to run

Scroll down to the hardware enabling drivers section and download the Intel Audio Driver.

You'll have to manually install them through the device manager

The audio driver is built into the HD Graphics driver package. Installing this package installs both drivers.

And, I would add, you should download and install all drivers that you can find. You should not rely on Windows Update to get it right - because it does not.

I missed some of your content. Intel does not support 64-bit Windows 10 on this ICS. You need to look for the generic drivers for the processor and chipset utilized. After that, well, you are stuck with whatever Windows Update provides (I agree; not a good place to be).

Sorry,

well that is very disappointing considering its a x64 based processor and the bios can be set up for 64-bit operating systems, as I said everything works perfect in 64-bit windows including all hardware and 64-bit applications run good.

every other driver that comes from windows works perfect and intel hd graphics functions just as it should so if you were to make a 64-bit audio driver this would be a perfect compute stick, no other driver is required except audio

And also there is no generic driver that is compatible, I have tried many but all fail

Hello Jared-Pratt ,

Since HDMI carries both audio and video, the drivers for Intel HD Graphics control both graphics and audio.

Please try these drivers that are supported for Cherry Trail (code name for the CPU inside your ICS)

Drivers 4501: http://intel.ly/2cFvlCR http://intel.ly/2cFvlCR

Hope this can help with your issue.

No the intel HD graphics drivers do not install any audio drivers for the stk1aw32sc

I tried forcing the Intel Display Audio drivers From The .zip file of the intel hd graphics installer to install through the device manager but they are not compatible

The Audio Drivers that the stk1aw32sc Require are the Intel SST Audio Drivers which I can't find in 64 bit or for the cherry trail processor

??? I thought the difference between the STK1AW32SC and the STK1A32SC, was that Intel pre-loaded WIndows 10 x86 on the former. At any rate, I did a fresh install of Windows 10 x64 Pro on my STK1AW32SC (Z8300 CPU), and downloaded the STK1A32SC drivers (below) and installed them. All works fine.

You are right to point out that Windows will install the wrong drivers if you let it.

To the point of the OP's quest for Windows 10 x64 drivers, here they are: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/91064/Intel-Compute-Stick-STK1A32SC Downloads for Intel® Compute Stick STK1A32SC Note that the drivers listed, support both x86 and x64 Windows 10 installs. As for how I found them, I did a Google search for "Intel CS125 Windows 10 drivers" and selected the 3rd link in the search results list.

Hello Jared-Pratt ,

It is great to hear you found additional drivers for audio!

Before installing these drivers from that 3rd party, were you having issues with the audio in your unit? Apart from "not having" drivers?

Please let me know in order to report it and troubleshoot or find a solution for graphics/audio drivers of the Intel® Compute Stick STK1A32SC

Dean, here you can find the officially supported os for our ICS: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-compute-stick/000005899.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-compute-stick/000005899.html
