New m5 compute stick running Win 8.1 Pro. Two different 128GB SDXC cards in the SD slot fail to partition and are shown as "bad disk" by 2 different partition managers. A Samsung 64GB EVO card works perfectly in the m5 stick. Both 128GB cards however (Samsung EVO+ and Amplin) test perfectly under h2test2 and are recognized by a different 8.1 Pro system, so the problem appears to be a combination of the m5 stick and 128GB cards.

Hello,
In regard to your inquiry about using the 128GB SD card with the Intel® STK2MV64CC compute stick, I just wanted to verify if by any chance did you format the SD card already?
Because, we had some cases, where due to the technology being used by the SD card, if you do that, if you format the SD card, the stick will not recognize the full size any more, it will recognize only 32GB or 64GB.
So, that could be the reason why this is happening, since the SD card is fully compatible with the stick.
Now, as an option you can always reinstall the chipset and management engine drivers, here you have the links to do that:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26054/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-for-Intel-Compute-Stic... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26054/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-for-Intel-Compute-Stic...
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25671/Intel-Management-Engine-Corporate-Driver-for-Windows... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25671/Intel-Management-Engine-Corporate-Driver-for-Windows...
On the link it says there is a newer version for the management engine driver, but that one is for windows 10.
Also you can try a BIOS update to version 0035:
On the following link you will see the instructions of how to do the update:

Here you have the link for the BIOS file, the 4th option to the left is the file you need to save:

Alberto,
All 3 SDXC cards (64GB Samsung, 128GB Samsung, 128GB Amplim) were initially run through h2testw to verify genuine & confirm capacities. All 3 were then formatted as NTFS on another Win 8.1 machine. The 64GB Samsung was recognized immediately by the m5, and was then successfully partitioned and formatted NTFS. Neither of the 128GB cards were recognized by the Win partition editor or by 3rd party partition editors. They weren't recognized as 32GB or as 64GB cards, they weren't recognized at all, or as "bad disk".
Per your suggestion, I reinstalled the chipset driver & the management engine driver. This appears to have solved the problem! I have only tried the Amplim 128GB card, but it was recognized by the partition editor, partitioned and formatted NTFS. It is operating normally in the m5 stick.
Thanks!
