Sketch Crash After 5 Minutes

Jump to solution

Hello Everyone!

So i applied what is advised in https://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/2015/08/01/procedure-to-autostart-the-arduino-sketch-on-ediso... this tutorial to automate my sketch on boot-up.

And it WORKED!! .. well .. for 5 minutes anyway, then it crashes after that.

The following picture demonstrate that after just under 300 pings (there is a 1sec delay between each ping) the sketch crashes.

I do not have any problems when uploading the sketch using the Arduino IDE, the sketch runs indefinitely.

However, once i re-plug it into the USB, or power it through a battery, the crash happens after 5 minutes.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to approach this problem?

I should also mention that i am using the http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81s%2BQNgRBQL._SL1500_.jpg Intel Edison with the Arduino Kit.

Also, the --version is "159.devkit"

Thank you!

Hello V1N0,

It doesn't seem to be any reason for it for it to crash. In that case I'd suggest you to reflash your board to see if that improves its behavior and if that doesn't help I'd suggest you to flash version 146. That image is known to have better stability with Arduino sketches and doesn't have some issues with them that 159.devkit do. You can find it in https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/24910/Intel-Edison-Software-Release-2-1?httpDown=htt... Intel Edison Software Release 2.1.

In version 146 you don't have to follow the https://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/2015/08/01/procedure-to-autostart-the-arduino-sketch-on-ediso... Procedure to Autostart the Arduino Sketch on Edison for the sketches to start on boot.
