I am learning Image processing in intel edison.
Local Host Computer : Windows 7
Installed Yocto Linux (159.devkit) in intel edison
Unable to use Tkinter package.
"ImportError: No module named _tkinter" # If this fails your Python may not be configured for Tk
"ImportError: No module named Tkinter"
I am quite new to this. Please bare with me.
I tried and it is not working neither.
But what do you expect to do with tkinter? I am not too familiar with it but this module is for building graphical interfaces. There is none on Edison so this module would be useless...
Thank you for reaching out.
I would like to know if you're following any documentation or tutorial on how to process images with the Edison. Are you using something similar? As Sideralis mentioned, the Edison is not really suited for graphical purposes, however, if it is possible to help you we will definitely try it.
Have you tried using 'pip install'?
opkg install python-pip
pip install tkinter
Also, I would suggest you to update your Edison image for better performance.
No. I stopped following Tkinter as I came to understand that edison doesn't support any graphical interface. But Is there any other solution which will allow us look at the images/2d plots on the console like you see it in ipython or spyder or jupyter?
I would suggest you to check these two links/tutorials on how to use OpenCV with Python, it might be what you're looking for:
Hopefully, this information will help you.
Pablo, I am also trying to configure Tkinter to work on my edison board. Has anyone gotten this loaded and working?
I'm wanting to load it to use the non-graphical "widget.after" module that come with the tkinter package.
Have you tried using pip install just like Pablo suggested? Did it work?
We will be waiting for your reply.
Have a nice day.
