Thank you for your interest in the Intel® Galileo Gen 2 Board.
This is more a Linux issue than a Galileo issue, but I'll try to explain why you are getting that notification message.
As you suggested, it is a dependency-related issue, the "unsatisfied recommendation" message appears when the package manager encounters a need for a file (or package) that is not installed. So if you need any of the files listed, you should manually and individually install them.
