What debugger to use with an Intel D2000 MCU?

Jump to solution

I'm new to the Intel Quark MCUs, but I'd like to give them a try. I see that the D2000 has a JTAG interface, but there is no specific debugger or programmer device offered. Does this mean that the D2000 will work with any device that supports JTAG? I also took a look at the CRB which has an FT232H from FTDI as a JTAG/USB interface. Is that all that is needed to work with the D2000? If I create a similar design on a custom PCB, will Intel's IDE be able to connect to the MCU through the FTDI device?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hi timur.kristof

The OpenOCD debugger is provided in the Intel System Studio for Microcontrollers 2016 Toolchain available for download at - https://registrationcenter.intel.com/en/forms/?productid=2580 Commercial Product Request - Intel® Products

And yes the FTDI should be all you need to connect the ISSM to your board.

regards,

Michelle.
