What versions of SD cards are compatible with this board?

Jump to solution

There are fast SD cards that can boot the OS really fast, as much as there are cheaper/slower alternatives, i dont know if the new fast SD cards will be compatible with this board, is there a list of compatible SD cards for this board?

Hi AdanChristo,

I haven't had issues with the SD cards I've used so far. According to this document: https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-galileo-boards/000006045.h... Product Brief for Intel® Galileo Gen 2 Development Boards, the only requirement specified for the SD card is that it has to be up to 32GB. Unfortunately, there isn't a list of compatible SD cards that I can recommend you, so I would say that the only way to know if the SD card you are talking about works would be testing it.

Just to let you know, currently I use a microSDHC 8GB Class 4 card.

Regards,

Diego

Hi AdanChristo,

I don't remember to have seen any reference to specific SD card speed requirement/s or suggestions at Intel site/s.

I've seen suggestions to use class 10 cards in other -non Intel- sites (https://projects.wyliodrin.com/wiki/boards_setup/arduinogalileo https://projects.wyliodrin.com/wiki/boards_setup/arduinogalileo) or in some posts

HTH,

Fernando.
