I have the ComputeStick installed on a Samsung plasma TV. Whenever I turn on the TV and change the TV's input to HDMI2 to reach the ComputeStick, all I see is static. I have to physically unplug and re-plug the power cable from the ComputeStick to force it to reboot. I don't know if this is caused by something the TV is doing when it is turned off. It would really be nice if the ComputeStick simply maintained a steady state even when the TV is turned off - just like the Google Chromecast device (HDMI1) does with the TV. When I turn the TV on, Chromecast is immediately available - no unplugging required. I have updated all of the drivers, btw. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hello Tahoe_Roland:
In order to try to fix this problem we can try a BIOS update to the very latest version of the stick.
On the following link, you will be able to see the instructions of how to do a BIOS update on the stick using the F7 method:
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/desktop-boards/000005724.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/desktop-boards/000005724.html
And on the following link, please enter the model of the stick and you will be able to get the different BIOS version available for it, please choose the latest one:

Additionally, you can always get in contact with the manufacturer of the TV, in order to look for a firmware update or a driver for it.
Any questions, please let me know.

I figured out what was going wrong... I use a small wireless keyboard with my ComputeStick. It has a tiny RF adapter plugged into the USB port on the ComputeStick. I discovered the keyboard MUST be turned off before I turn on the TV. If the keyboard remains powered on when I turn the TV on, I get the static problem. However, If I turn off the keyboard first, then turn on the TV... the ComputeStick appears as expected and it functions properly. Once I see that it is operational, I can power-on the keyboard and use it just fine. In case you are interested, the model of the keyboard is:

Aside from the original issue - which has been resolved - this is a great item to use with the ComputeStick.
