WiFi is online but not accessible

Hi,

I just setup my Edison board. It works well to ping google but cannot be reached from another computer on the same local network by either ping or browsers. Any comments?

Thank you very much in advance,

ZP408

Hi ZP408,

Thanks for your interest in the Intel Edison Platform.

I'm sorry to hear that you can't connect to your computer by WiFi. I have one question before we start looking for a solution to your issue: Are you trying to reach the web site highlighted in the image below (http//:192.168.10.81)? If you are this is a known issue, I would recommend to SSH to your Edison. You can achieve this through PuttY or using the Eclipse IDE. I hope you find this information useful.

I will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day.

Best Regards,

Hi Jose,

Thank you very much for your reply. I am not sure I fully have understood your Email. I tried to ping Edison (192.168.1.202) but failed, pinged google.com from Edison with Putty is ok. Can you specify more? I'm a newbie in this forum.

best regards,

Hi ZP408,

I apologize I forgot to attached the image, you can see it now in my previous reply. Looking at what you answer I think that you are trying to access to your Edison.local, in the recent firmwares this is not possible. May I ask what are you trying to achieve with your Edison?

I will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day.

Best regards,

Hi Jose,

Yes, I did it before and did it again a few minutes ago: I used PuttY to access the board and executed "configure_edison –wifi". I got the screen you attached. My highlighted IP is 192.168.1.202. I tried access it with my laptop browser but failed.

I want to use Edison to collect data and send to cloud.

Thanks,

ZP408

Hi ZP408,

Yes this URL is not available in the recent firmwares, if you want access to this URL you will need to flash an old image. Nevertheless I would strongly recommend to follow this links to create a server and send data to the cloud:

Links:

1) https://software.intel.com/en-us/taxonomy/term/81764 Amazon AWS*

2) https://software.intel.com/en-us/taxonomy/term/81765 IBM Bluemix*

3) https://software.intel.com/en-us/taxonomy/term/81766 Microsoft Azure*

I will be waiting for your reply, have a nice day.

Hi ZP08,

Yes the Edison works even if it doesn't pings to the URL, just ping to another webpage like Google to test your Internet connection. Now if you want to download the old image, follow this thread ( ) it will give you the necessary links for installation. Still I will strongly recommend to use the suggestion in my previous reply.

Have a nice day.

Best Regards,

-Jose.
