Wifi Card for the Intel Galileo Gen 2 - Help needed

Jump to solution

I am looking for a Wifi card for my Intel Galileo Gen 2 board. Does any one know any good Wifi cards to install on the Gen 2 board?

I am running the Intel® Galileo Board microSD Card Linux* Operating System Image (EGLIBC microSD card image) on it.

Hello KimLorentz,

The Centrino Wireless-N 135 card is recommended since the drivers are already installed in the SD card image. On the other hand, the Centrino Advanced-N 6235 card is used in the following guide: http://www.malinov.com/Home/sergey-s-blog/intelgalileo-addingwifi Intel Galileo Meets Wireless - Malinov Family Web Presence, so you might want to take a look at it.

Additionally, you can check in the following document which wireless cards are compatible with the kernel version used by Galileo (3.8.7): http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-034398.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Linux* Support for Intel® Wi-Fi Adapters. Besides the Centrino Wireless-N 135 card, I haven't tested other cards so I'm not sure if you would have any kind of issues with the drivers. Anyhow, I recommend you to use the Centrino Wireless-N 135 card since it is the one that has been tested.

Regards,

Diego.
