Yocto with Numpy and Scipy

Hi guys,

 

I'm so a noob in the topic Yocto that the question probably is very stupid bad formed.

With this premise I need to build a project that has theese requirements.

 

1) Bluetooth

 

2) Wireless

 

3) Lib mraa (Need to use serial and i2c)

 

4) Numpy

 

5) Possibly Scipy

Now what I know from Yocto is that you can build your custom image with additional stuff. But I've searched for the forum and is without a complete guide.

 

So my final goal is to have a machine stable with the requirements liested above, and If you have a "how to" include some package or external c++ library in a Yocto image to flash. This will be greate!

Please help me

well, actually there is documentation available: https://www.yoctoproject.org/documentation/presentations https://www.yoctoproject.org/documentation/presentations. The development manual http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.8/dev-manual/dev-manual.html Yocto Project Development Manual referred there also includes descriptions on image customizations.

On your specific request: to just add packages you'd need to

- find / write the recipes (e.g. https://github.com/openembedded/oe-core/tree/master/meta/recipes-devtools/python/python-numpy oe-core/meta/recipes-devtools/python/python-numpy at master · openembedded/oe-core · GitHub for numpy)

- add the corresponding packages to edison-image.bb, or edison-image.bbappend respectively. (IMAGE_INSTALL += "")

Confirm, it works.

I don't try with scipy since I don't need it now. (So gfortran inclusion)

But the links were helpfull
