edison-20160606.patch

Jump to solution

What are the steps for applying patch edison-20160606.patch to Intel Edison using Windows host? Have the latest Yocto image (uname -r -> 3.10.98-poky-edison+) flashed onto Edison.

Wanting this patch to retain sketch on board after board reboot or power cycle.

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for your interest in our Intel products.

The edison-20160606.patch can only be installed from a linux host and you need to build the image from source. You can find the proper guide here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005616/boards-and-kits.html

Also, this patch won't make your board retain the sketches after board reboot or power cycle.

The patch allows the image to be built from source. It changes where the packages are being fetched from to avoid any broken links.

There's a workaround that you can try that will enable the Arduino sketch to be run after reboot. You can find it here /message/319509# 319509 https://communities.intel.com/message/319509# 319509 .

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Octavian

Thanks for information Octavian. Did something similar to workaround. Fortunately, found older /opt/edision files for reverting to prior release. Consider this posting solved and complete.
