Hello @marciarzky,

Thanks for reaching out!

The latest Galileo image (which can be downloaded from https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/galileo/downloads) includes the UVC driver, so as long as you are working with a UVC compatible camera, you will be able to interact with your camera using your Galileo. You can check that your camera is being detected with the command ls /dev/video*.

You can in fact check this entry to see how a user used his camera with Galileo http://allskyee.blogspot.com/2015/04/webcam-using-motion-on-intel-galileo.html.

Now that you know that your camera is compatible with Galileo, then you can start programming for it. Since you are trying to create a C script you will be able to find many examples on the web, for example:

https://gist.github.com/bellbind/6813905

There are even libraries for UVC camera such as libuvc, you might be interested in checking it and taking a look at its examples. This library can be found in:

https://github.com/ktossell/libuvc

I hope this information helps you,

Pedro M.
