how to miniaturize existing arduino projects with Curie

Hey,

I'm really excited about the Intel Curie chip. I have existing wearable projects that are using small arduino boards that would be greatly improved by switching to a system the size of the Curie chip. Is there a guide on how to use only the chip in development? (i.e. I understand how to use the arduino 101 board as a testing prototype for the chip but i'm interested in development without the board using only the chip because of it's size.)

Many thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,

If you want information about the Intel® Curie™ Compute Module, you can check the https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-curie-module-design-guide Intel Curie Compute Module Design Guide and https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-curie-module-datasheet Intel Curie Compute Module Datasheet, they have a lot of information about the module.

And you can also check this link: https://software.intel.com/en-us/iot/hardware/curie, it has all the information available about it.

I hope this is the information that you are looking for.

Hey,

I was actually after some more broad information. Specifically, for example, I want to know how to take an application built on an arduino 101 board and then reduce the size to using only the Intel Curie Module. For example Tag heuer example on your page, now i'm sure they are not embedding an Arduino 101 into a watch

Hi Simon,

Take a look at this page: https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/674972, I think this is exactly what you are looking for.

This page contains information about the Intel® Curie™ ODK, and it helps the developers to build boards based on the Intel Curie module and turn them into products. Just remember that this is beta release and it is under development so we really appreciate your patience on this.

Additionally, if you want to get the Intel Curie Module, this is now available for purchase from a sellers like Mouser (Mouser.com), or you can get the tinyTILE board by Element14, it has not launched yet, but you can check this site for more information: https://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-82913/l/tinytile-intel-curie-module-based-board.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Hello Leonardo,

Do you know when the schematics, board layout and BOM of the tinyTILE board will be made available as per https://software.intel.com/en-us/node/675623 tinyTILE Board | Intel® Software ?

Thanks,

Armel

Hi Armel,

I'm going to be honest, I don't know when because the tinyTILE Board is manufactured by Element14, if you want to know more about it, I recommend you to contact them ( https://www.element14.com/community/docs/DOC-82913/l/tinytile-intel-curie-module-based-board).

Have a nice day.
