in Arduino IDE, do I need to choose Board ?

Jump to solution

In Arduino IDE, under tools->board, it has many selection ( Arduino Nano, Arduino Mini, etc.) Do I need to choose Board when I do the setting?

if I choose one of them, does it mean it does some setup? what about this?

Hi, SherryL

Yes, regardless the board you are using (Edison, Galileo Gen1 or Galileo Gen2) you need to choose the specific board under the Tool tab. Once you have selected the board the IDE will choose the correct compiler.

Thanks,
