I tried to install win10 iot on joule, following this documentation:https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/how-to-install-windows-10-iot-core-on-intel-joule How to install Windows® 10 IoT Core on the Intel® Joule™ Module | Intel® Software .But, at the step of run JouleInstaller.cmd ,it displayed : checking Disk(or sth like this...),Disk is online, the disk type is not SD,it is USB.

Then I don't know how to fix it.Is there any mistake I made?

Hello kmij261,

Thanks for reaching out!

First of all, could you please explain us step by step what you've tried so far? I mean, I understand that you are following the guide found at https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/how-to-install-windows-10-iot-core-on-intel-joule but I would like to make sure we're on the same page. On the same topic, when you ran JouleInstaller.cmd and you got that message, what happened next? Did it fail? Did you get any error message?

Can you share a screenshot of this message? I mean a screenshot similar to the one found on the guide under the line: "From there, type the command: "JouleInstaller.cmd" and Enter. This script will flash the OS in the internal eMMC (the operation will show a percentage advancing till the end of the operation)".

Hello Pedro,

Glad to receive your response.

I prepare a USB flash disk ,and downloaded the windows ADK for my win10(version 1607) on this page:https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/windows-assessment-deployment-kit https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/windows-assessment-deployment-kit.Reboot and followed these instructions ( for my disk was named I: ,so I replaced f: with I: ) :

And downloaded the install script from this page : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26320/Windows-10-IoT-Core-install-script-for-Intel-Joule- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26320/Windows-10-IoT-Core-install-script-for-Intel-Joule-, unzip and copy JouleInstaller.cmd to the root of the disk.

Then I downloaded the following Windows 10 IoT Core iamge, unzip and copy the flash.ffu to the root of my disk.

I prepare what I need an power on Joule, into the BIOs,

reboot and into BIOs again, boot from EFI USB Devices

here I enter the winPE:

type the commands :

and error occurs.

So that's the things I did.Is there anyting wrong?

Thanks for your help!

I've been checking all the steps you are following and I'm not able to find the reason why you are facing this issue. The one difference I do notice is that you left secure boot disabled when the guide did not. So, I believe it's worth the shot to try and enable secure boot to see if it makes any difference.

Hello Pedro,

I tired to enable the secure boot, save and exit .Then it reboot, failed again, but I enter BIOs again to check, found that the UEFI secure boot was still disabled .

Seems theres something wrong ,but I cann't understand why .

So I give up installing win 10 iot on Joule ,and decide to use the original OS.Maybe I'll try to figure it out later .

Many thanks,

kmij261.

Hello kmij261,

I understand, please keep us updated on this and if you have any issues, let us know and we'll try to help you as much as possible.

In case you don't already have it, this guide https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-joule-getting-started will help you install the Ref-OS-IoT image, update your BIOS and provide you some useful information.
