ksize.py & dirsize.py for  Yocto on Galileo

Hi

I followed : http://www.malinov.com/Home/sergey-s-blog/intelgalileo-buildinglinuximage Intel Galileo - Building Linux Image - Malinov Family Web Presence

to build full image of Yocto on Galileo. I found there are not ksize.py & dirsize.py. So I found them on internet as attached files.

When I run ksize.py under yocto_build directory, the result is as following:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[leizhou@localhost yocto_build]$ ksize.py > ksize.log

[leizhou@localhost yocto_build]$ cat ksize.log

Linux Kernel total | text data bss

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

vmlinux 0 | 0 0 0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

sum 0 | 0 0 0

delta 0 | 0 0 0

And when I run dirsize.py under /meta-clanton_v0.7.5/yocto_build/tmp/deploy/images/meta-clanton_v0.7.5/yocto_build/tmp/deploy/images directory, the result is:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[leizhou@localhost images]$ dirsize.py 100000 > dirsize-100k.log

[leizhou@localhost images]$ cat dirsize-100k.log

It seems to be a wrong way to build the tiny system. Could you tell me what is the problem?

Thanks so much.

Lei

Greetings LeiZhou

It looks like there is a bug for those python scripts and they may not work correctly on Yocto, take a look at this link https://www.yoctoproject.org/bug/bug-5388-ksizepy-and-dirsizepy-should-exists-scripts-directory https://www.yoctoproject.org/bug/bug-5388-ksizepy-and-dirsizepy-should-exists-scripts-directory. We recommend you to follow up on this matter on the Yocto forum.

Regards
